Please excuse my delay in posting Sparky’s Sunday report. Let’s just say circumstances were beyond my control. Despite my week of discombobulation, Sparky had an outstanding week doing naughty things and getting into all kinds of mischief. She provided me with many moments of laughter, leavened by occasional doses of “I’m going to kill that cat!” In other words, a typical Sparky week.
Happy, happy that Sparky can see well enough to spot a spider on the ceiling directly above my desk. Not so happy, happy that she came crashing down on the desk after an unwise attempt to catch the spider.
Efforts to console Sparky after her failed arachnid assassination were mistaken for an invitation to play “Let’s attack Mom’s hand.”
After rebuffing my overtures, Sparky decided to beat up some jugs of newly purchased kitty litter. Take that, you dastardly label! (Note the rubber band–her previous toy–hanging from her back leg.)
I removed the kitty litter to safety, swept up the torn labels, and tried to give Sparky a friendly pat. No dice. She’s wired and wants to play rough.
So, okay, the jugs of kitty litter have been put away, but there are still shopping bags full of interesting stuff to get into—until Mom takes them away from me.
So I retaliate by attacking her hand. Again. It’s a favorite game of mine, and while I never use my claws or break the skin with my teeth, Mom says my play bites are a bit too enthusiastic.
By the end of an energetic week getting into mischief, Mom always forgives me when I seek out her lap and get into funny positions. Night-night, all!

I do so enjoy seeing what mischief she getting into. Of course, I don’t have to clean up the mess!

LOL, Karen! Yes indeed, I have cleaned up my share of Sparky messes! She’s incorrigible, but so funny that sometimes all I can do is laugh. She is one determined feline.

She’s not attacking the hand, she’s hugging the hand. At least that’s what I tell myself when my Dynamic Duo go for hands or feet… No teeth, no claws, just a friendly mouth grip and paw wrap. Sometimes I’ll just continue walking, dragging a kitty latched onto an ankle…
Sparky’s outrageous lap sleeping position makes me laugh every time I see a picture.
I enjoy reading about her antics and seeing your great pictures. Really curious how she’ll respond to the outdoor screened room. Curious cats keep pushing the boundaries and edges. I bet she finds all kine mischief!!
My two kitties just stayed at pet sitter for a week with screened lanai and they loved every minute being outside, first time ever. Birds, moving leaves, waving grass, breezes! And a hammock to climb on? Heaven. Sitter said they couldn’t stop staring.

MaeLou, you always
see things just a little bit differently and I’ve found your observations
to be very much true. You make me look at things through different eyes.
Indeed, it is really like Sparky is hugging my hand. *g* In fact, she “hugs” my hand
about 50% of the time I try to pet her.
I have many, MANY
pictures of Sparky sleeping in my lap and she always gets into the funniest
contortions. But she really likes to snuggle down between my legs. And to get
comfortable, she pokes and prods me and even gives me a few rabbit thumps with
her hind legs to make more room for herself. It’s like someone squirming
around and punching their pillow when they go to bed! LOL!
Your Dynamic Duo appear
to have really enjoyed their outdoor experience! I’m hoping Sparky will
love her catio once I get it built. Today I was fiddling around drawing revised
plans for the catio, taking measurements, drawing, taking more measurements,
erasing, trying to configure a difficult area that will present challenges. But
I can’t wait to build it. Sparky will think she’s in hog heaven!
