Sparky the hunter! Yes, Sparky has demonstrated great proficiency as a hunter. She's a natural at it, and is systematically ridding the farm of mice and shrews and voles. In the above picture Sparky has just caught a shrew
Sparky really gets into the hunting thing. She leaps. She twirls. She pounces. I was able to get a couple of good shots of Sparky's acrobatics as she flung her varmint about.
So what does Sparky do after a spirited session of acrobatics? She takes a well-deserved nap, of course! And what better place for a nap than a sun-warmed sidewalk! (And if the sun is too bright for a nap, just cover your eyes!)
P.S. Remember, to see a large version of the above pictures, just click on the picture. If nothing else, the two "air" pictures are humorous enough to warrant a second look!
Looks like Sparky belongs in the circus 🙂

These are terrific photos, Sherrie! Not easy to get action shots like those. Sparky is shaping up to be quite the character. Always enjoy reading about her!

Jean, another Sparky fan suggested writing a children’s book. I hadn’t thought of a magazine! Must add that to the list of possibilities for Sparky. Now, if only I could get some videos of her and post them on YouTube . . .

Hi, Judith. Yes, it’s really been difficult getting action shots, but I keep trying. Every once in awhile I manage to get a good one, and when I do, I post them here!

Artemisia, *do not* give Sparky ideas! Juggling! I think
she already has a head start, what with her flinging varmints all over the
place. In fact, I’ve been watching her “juggle” a freshly caught vole today and
she was doing a fine job until it started to rain. We’re now inside, awaiting
the return of the sun. It’s been a weird day, with alternating rain and
sunshine, so Sparky (and I) have been dashing inside and then outside—she to do
some more hunting, and me to transplanting tomatoes and other veggies. If I see
Sparky juggling, I’ll try to catch it on my camera!

Oh, Sherrie…
You’ve clearly made your Sparky the happiest of cats.
And you’re one heckuva photographer, too!

Hi, Faith. Thanks for the compliment! And yes, little Miss Sparky is certainly a happy cat. Not a care in the world. Oh, how divine to be so carefree!
