The Sparky Report #10

SPARKY CELEBRATES A BIRTHDAY

No, not Sparky's birthday–a Wench's birthday. Namely, Susan King, who recently celebrated her natal day. Sparky got wind of it, so naturally, she had to compose a special birthday greeting for Susan:

Sparky the cross-eyed kitten says, “Goodness, did another birthday sneak up on you, Susan????”

“Well, in that case, I’d better print out a birthday card for you!”

“You don’t mind waiting a bit while it prints out, do you?

“Now, for the envelope. I know one’s in here somewhere.”

“Wake up, Shona! I want you to deliver a birthday gift for me!”

“Now, to wrap the present. Scissors? Check! Rubber band? Check!”

“I hope you don’t mind if Shona left a few tooth marks on your prezzy.”  🙂

And here, dear Susan, is your prezzy—a beautiful fall sunset. After all, no present can out-do Mother Nature! Happy birthday, Susan!”

  1. How very clever and cute of Sparky! I must say, sunsets are my favorite gift too (and that’s a gorgeous one!).
And my very best wishes to Susan.

  6. What a lovely gift and chosen by such an intelligent poly. For a minute there though, I thought she’d lost her tail in that picture with Shona. I’m glad she didn’t 🙂

  11. Susan (birthday girl!), glad you liked Sparky’s first attempt at birthday greetings. I suspect she’ll get better with time. From the sounds of it, you had a great birthday. Let’s hope thone tops them all!

  16. Theo, yes, it looks like Sparky is a Manx in that one picture, doesn’t it? Happy to report that she was just swishing her tail when I snapped that picture. Like most cats, she swishes her tail before pouncing on something. In this case, the “something” happened to be the longsuffering Shona! *g*

  21. Louisa, Sparky is indeed clever. Sometimes too clever for her own good. Like right now. She is making acrobatic leaps trying to snag the tempting frond of a hanging plant directly over her head. Must go distract her. That’s easily done–all I have to do is wad up a paper ball. The moment she hears that sound she comes running, ready to chase the ball when I throw it. I think she must be part Labrador Retriever!

  26. Thank you, Cathy. I’m glad you’re enjoying Sparky’s antics and adventures.
That sunset picture is indeed beautiful. I wish I’d taken it. I got it from the Internet and did a search to find out who the photographer was and to ask permission to use it. However, the picture wasn’t copyrighted and though I searched, I could find no information on it. And now I can’t even remember where I found it!
