Jo Wows Them in Seattle!

From Sherrie:

Well, it wasn’t actually in Seattle … it was in Bellevue, just outside Seattle.  Close enough.

Jo is a speaker and workshop presenter this weekend at the "Writers Weekend" conference.  I’ll let her give the details when she gets back, but since this is in my neck of the woods, I have several local friends who attended.  Every one of them came back with raves about Jo.  I wish I could have gone.  Alas, the editorial side of my life is keeping me chained to the computer.

I asked my friends to report back to me on the conference, and a number of them did.  Interspersed in their comments were praises for Jo.  The best one:   "JB gave the closing speech tonight and of course she was wonderful.  You just can’t help but love her."  I have to agree.

Here’s an exclusivie picture of Jo at the conference wowing her audience with her knowledge and charm.

  1. Tal, I clicked on the link and it whisked me right to my website. You might want to check your computer settings. Also, if you have AOL, that might be a contributing factor. In troubleshooting for various visitors to this site, it seems like those with AOL have the most problems. Purely scientific observation, of course! (g)

  4. OK, peeps, I’m going to turn in another TypePad help ticket on this. The last time, they told me it was likely each individual’s personal computer settings, though AOL figured heavily into the equation.
I do know that some of my clients with AOL can’t get links to work either. They have to copy the URL and paste it into their browser window. And when they send me e-mails containing links, I also have to copy and paste them, as the hotlink won’t work. But not all my AOL clients have that problem, so it must have something to do with settings.
Regardless, I appreciate the input from our visitors and will see if we can get to the bottom of this.
P.S. when I include my URL beneath my name, as I often do when posting comments (hard habit to break), does that link not work either? Or is it just when it’s on the main page?

  7. Hi Sherrie —
The links have always worked for me. Both on the main page and in your posts. I use IE.
I have however just experienced a strange phenomenon. Up until a few moments ago, I always had to type my name and email when posting even with remember checked. Now, I don’t have to. Not sure what changed.

  10. I got the main page of your website, not the picture, when I clicked on the link.
I have been finding myself signed in lately when I logged in here. I am asked to type the verification first time I post in a session.
That is one bad verification, though. Often nearly illegible against the gray background, and hard to tell the letters from the numbers (g from 9, for example). And you can’t play the Word Verification Game with it! At least, I haven’t tried…

I had a great time at the Writers’ Weekend. A wonderful mix of people. 🙂
But I’m way behind on everything.
