Comment Problems

ComputerWoesDear readers,

Sherrie here, wearing her Admin hat. We are having ongoing problems with spam, forcing us to close comments on older posts. In addition, some legitimate reader comments are ending up in the spam folder by accident. We're working with Typepad on a fix, but in the meantime, please let me know if you have comment problems. Just scroll all the way down to the very bottom of the left sidebar for my e-mail address, or send it to sholmes [at] holmesedit.com. I'm checking the spam folder daily, so if your comment ended up there, I'll liberate it. We're sorry for the inconvenience. Let's hope this problem gets fixed soon!

  1. Quite a few blogs that I also follow close comments after a set period of time, so that seems to me to be a fair protocol. If you don’t want to do that, then on older posts require mod approval before the comments appear…. if that isn’t too labor intensive. Your time is important, too.
and I’m also chiming in say that I love the Sparky updates, too!!

Yes, we’ve been forced to close comments on some of our older posts that are getting hit with spam. We don’t really want to institute moderated comments, so fingers crossed that this problem will be fixed soon!
