Yes, the "nun on the run and rake on the make"’ book is #14 on the Times list. Jo has been a star for years, including 5 RWA RITA awards (which puts her in the RWA Hall of Fame) and other awards too numerous to mention.
She has also been on the Times extended list many times. But this is the first time on the official printed list. And even though the mass market bestseller list was recently expanded to 20, Jo’s #14 would have made the book a bestseller even in the old, 15 titles only, days. We are sooooooooo proud of her!
The book is a Georgian, part of Jo’s extended Malloren series. She has talked here about some about her research–traveling in France, nunneries in Italy, and Papillon dogs, little balls of fluff that were popular with court ladies. <G>
A Lady’s Secret is every bit up to Jo’s high standard, and deserves that bestseller list status. (Yes, there are other bestseller lists and Jo has been on most of them. But publishing is based in New York and the Times is the hometown newspaper of publishing, so it has particular resonance.)
