OUR FIFTH ANNIVERSARY
On Wednesday, May 25, we celebrate our fifth (5th!) year of blogging together as the Word Wenches. We're planning a contest to celebrate this milestone, and we'd love to have you join us!
We have lots of things planned, including an overhaul of our Web site to give us a a spiffy new look. We hope you like the new us. We're doing the overhaul in stages, with completion scheduledd for May 25.
Mark your calendar and join us on Wednesday for the contest. One of you will be chosen as a winner, and will receive a book from each Wench. That's eight books, people! So get your party hats and noisemakers ready, and join the celebration!
JOHN DIERDORF, HWW
It's traditional here at the Word Wenches to award the honorarium of "Honorary Word Wench" to our guests, as well as endow them with fantastic cyber gifts to show our appreciation. John, you were awarded an HWW back in February of 2008 when you visited us the first time for your joint post with Jo entitled The Words, They Are a-Changing . To thank you for joining us again for another joint blog with Jo ( Then and Now ) we hereby award you a time machine! Enjoy the ride, John, and be sure to report back now and then on your travels!
WENCH E-BOOKS PAGE
The Wenches now have books available for those of you who have Nooks, Kindles, etc. We are developing an e-book page that will have links to each Wench's electronic books page. It should be up and running by May 25, just in time for our anniversary. Like our Free Printable Bookmarks page, it will have a link in the right sidebar. And dont forget–we always have custom-designed bookmarks that you can print out from our Web site or download to your computer for printing later. These bookmarks look especially nice printed out on photo paper.
WINNERS
We just love to give away books! The following have won books since our last Sunday Announcement: Patricia Punt submitted a blog topic suggestion which was used by Joanna Bourne, and she received a book from Joanna as a result. Diana Baltazar left a comment on Mary Jo Putney's post and won a book from her. Julie Wolf left a comment on the Jo Beverley/John Dierdorf post and won an M.J. Putney book. (Julie, please send your mailing address to Sherrie) Congratulations, winners! (Notice a trend here? Send us a blog topic suggestion or leave a comment and you're eligible to win a book!)
